It was established on 29 September, 1987 in Tirupati and covers a large area of 5532 acres (22 square kilometres) and became the second largest zoo park in Asia. At a distance of 4 km from Tirupati Railway Station, Kapilla Theertham is a famous waterfall situated inside Kapileswara Swamy Temple at the foot of Sheshadri Hills in Tirupati.
